"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Hebrews 11 : 1
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (John 14:1-3)
“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38).
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ (Matthew 22:37).
1 Corinthians 15:1-2
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
Our goals follow the pattern of the New Testament church in the Bible. It is God's plan that believers find strength through meaningful fellowship and worship. Weekly fellowship gives one hope and encouragement in troublesome times.
Our worship is a simple service based on New Testament teaching. Jesus taught that our worship was to be "in Spirit and in truth." (John.4:24). You are more than welcome to come and worship with us.
Our worship to God includes:
We sing a few songs during worship, without musical instruments. The words of the songs are most important since they are an expression of our faith and attitude towards God. You can sing along if you wish or just listen in reflection. (Eph. 5:19)
We pray for the observance of the Lord's supper and after the message we have prayer and thanksgiving re: the needs in our church and for the community. ((Philippians 5:6)
This part of the worship is the main reason why Christians come together. We remember the death of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection. We do this every Sunday according to the pattern shown in the New Testament. There is a short reflection given, followed by a prayer. The bread and grape juice are symbols that represent the body and blood of Jesus. (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:23-25)
This is an opportunity to acknowledge how God has blessed us. We give back to Him out of what He has blessed us with. The money collected is used to cover the cost of the building and other expenses, and more importantly, it is used to spread the Gospel and share the Bible with others. A server will pass a basket, but do not feel obligated to give. (1Cor. 16:1,2)
We listen to a message from the Bible that is designed to bring further understanding of scripture and how it applies in our daily lives. The gospel message strengthens our faith and gives us confidence and encouragement to face the week ahead. (1Cor. 2:4,5)
Feel free to ask questions at the end of the worship service - we welcome further discussion!
